Sibelga is replacing electricity meters with smart meters across the 19 Brussels municipalities. It fits them for some customers and in a rollout that moves from one neighbourhood to the next: its campaign shows when your area is due, and you are told the exact installation date in good time. Sibelga aims to have replaced 80% of Brussels electricity meters by 2030.
You don't have to wait for your turn. You can request a smart meter yourself through the My Sibelga portal, which is also where you rebook a missed appointment. The installation is free.
Once the meter is in, the free My Sibelga app (or the web portal) gives you a clear view of your electricity use. For live data, the meter has a P1 port, which needs extra equipment.
