Renting in Brussels? Check the PEB class in the ad and ask for the certificate
Brussels rental ads must show the home's PEB class and energy use per m², and the landlord must give you the certificate by the time you sign the lease at the latest. Use it to compare homes before you commit.

In Brussels, every rental ad must state the home's PEB class and its energy use in kWh per m² a year. The class runs from A (very efficient) to G (very energy-hungry). A better class usually means a home that is less cold in winter and less hot in summer, so compare it between the homes you visit.
The landlord must give the certificate free of charge to anyone interested in the ad, and you must receive it by the time you sign the lease at the latest. If you already rent, you can ask your landlord for it. You can also look up whether a home has a valid certificate in the public PEB register, by address.
Keep your copy: in Brussels a landlord can only index the rent if you were given a PEB certificate that is still valid.
