A Brussels PEB certificate issued since March 2023 does more than give a class: on its second page it sets out a recommended renovation scenario. For each step it shows how the home's performance level would change and how much energy use would fall in total once that step and the ones before it are done. That makes it a ready-made order of works to start from.

Certificates issued between October 2017 and March 2023 list three main recommendations instead, each with an estimated gain. The recommendations are advice, not obligations.

Use the scenario when you plan works and ask for quotes. If you find it hard to read, Homegrade, the Brussels advice centre for housing, can explain it free of charge.
