For advice on energy bills, Bruxelles Environnement points to the energy cell or the CPAS (OCMW in Dutch) of your municipality, and links to a list of the energy cells of the Brussels CPAS. According to Brugel, the energy cell is open to everyone in the municipality who has to deal with gas, electricity or water bills, and gives advice, information and, where needed, follow-up support.

If you are behind on your bills or in serious debt, the CPAS can help you settle the energy debt; an approved debt mediation service is another option. The CPAS can also check with you whether you qualify for protected-customer status, under which Sibelga supplies you at the social tariff until your debt is repaid.
