A Guichet Énergie Wallonie (one of the public energy advice offices of the Walloon Region) answers questions about energy in your home, whether you rent or own it. The advice is personal, neutral and free. Typical topics are insulation, heating and hot water, ventilation, lighting and appliances, renewable energy, PEB paperwork, the energy market and the financial support available for works.

The advisers can also check where your support application stands, compare supplier offers with you using the regulator's comparison tool, give a first opinion on whether solar panels make sense for your roof, and lend you a wattmeter to measure what an appliance uses. They help fill in the simplified PEB declaration needed for some small renovations. Visits to your home are the exception, for questions that cannot be answered at the office.

There are 16 offices spread over the five provinces. You can usually walk in on weekday mornings without an appointment and book a slot for other times, or call or email the office near you; the contact page lists every office and warns that hours can change, so check before you go.

In the nine German-speaking municipalities, housing and energy support has been run by the German-speaking Community since 2020. The network's office in Eupen serves that area, and the Community's own schemes and its free advice service, Energieberatung Ostbelgien, are on ostbelgienlive.be.
