How you charge matters more than the charger. Charge a little every day rather than filling the battery every few days, and charge more slowly at a lower power. If you drive under 100 km a day, an ordinary socket (about 10 km of range per hour) or a 4 kW charge point (about 15 km per hour) is enough. Charge at night, or at midday on solar power: charging at 7 kW while your panels produce 3 kW only draws 4 kW from the grid.
A smart charge point with load balancing watches the total use of your home and slows charging down when, say, the dryer and dishwasher are running. That protects your electrical installation and keeps your capacity peak low. It can use your meter's user port to measure, and it is especially handy with a dynamic electricity tariff. A timer in the car's app does part of the job too.
Every home charge point must be registered with Fluvius, which you do in Mijn Fluvius. Rules for charge points are changing, so check Fluvius before you buy one.
