Weigh a home battery carefully; there is no premium any more
With solar panels, a battery can lift the share of your own power you use from about 28% to about 68%, but the Flemish premium has ended and a bigger battery is not automatically better.

With solar panels alone, you use on average about 28% of the power you generate yourself; a home battery can lift that to about 68%. It can also cover your peaks when you draw a lot from the grid, which lowers the capacity tariff, and with smart control it can respond to dynamic electricity prices.
Whether that pays off depends on your costs and benefits, so weigh them carefully. A bigger battery is not automatically the better choice, because unused capacity makes the investment less worthwhile. The Flemish premium for home batteries has ended and can no longer be requested.
A home battery must pass an inspection by a recognised inspector, and you must register it with Fluvius within 30 days of that inspection. Check the official page for the current rules before you buy.
