Read the renovation path on a new Walloon PEB certificate

PEB certificates made since 1 September 2026 add an indicative path towards label A, with the label after works. Older certificates stay valid. The path is not a quote and does not replace the audit logement.

Since 1 September 2026, new Walloon PEB certificates go beyond the label from G to A++. They now include an indicative renovation path towards label A: the recommended works in a suggested order (insulating the roof, walls and floors, windows, ventilation, airtightness, heating and hot water), the label the home could reach once those works are done and, where one is available, an indicative cost. Apartments get no cost estimate, because many works there depend on the whole building or a decision of the co-owners. A home with solar panels shows its label both with and without them, so you can tell the building's own performance apart from its solar output. A technical annex shows how each part of the home performs and where most heat escapes.

Certificates drawn up before 1 September 2026 stay valid until their expiry date.

The path is generated automatically from the data the certifier collected, so treat it as a first orientation. It is not a quote and not a ready-made renovation project, and its costs vary with the building, the solutions chosen and local prices. For a personalised plan that takes your own project and any health and safety works into account, the next step is the audit logement (the more detailed Walloon home audit), which, depending on the schemes in force, may also be needed for financial support.

The audit logement and Walloon renovation support do not apply in the nine German-speaking municipalities, where the German-speaking Community runs housing and renovation support; see ostbelgienlive.be.
